- 1999 - 2006 Professor of Electronic Media at the University of Art and Design / Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Offenbach.
- 2000 Foundation of the 'CrossMediaLab' as a research and experimental platform for the interdisciplinary and productive dialog of analog and digital technologies and their innovative use in the context of art and design.

- 2007 - 2024 Bernd Kracke was instrumental in the planning and realisation of the new HfG Campus in Offenbach harbour, which was the subject of an international design competition in 2022 won by the office of Xaveer De Geyter Architects XDGA, Brussels, together with Topotek 1 Architects, Zurich, and landscape architects Topotek 2, Berlin. The winning design was commissioned in 2023 with the aim of starting construction in 2026 and completion in 2030.
- 2008 - 2024 Co-founder and spokesman of the board of the Hessian Film and Media Academy / Hessische Film und Medienakademie (hFMA), the network of 13 Hessian universities.
- 2012 -2024 Bernd Kracke took over the artistic direction of the B3 Biennale of the Moving Image Frankfurt RheinMain, which he initiated and conceived, and which took place annually from 2019 as the B3 Festival of the Moving Image.
- 2023 With the support of the Hessian state government, Bernd Kracke succeeds in taking over the Höchst Porcelain Manufactory (HPM) by the University of Art and Design / Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) out of bankruptcy and reorienting it as a future-oriented, innovative location for research and teaching.
- In 2024, Bernd Kracke was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Hesse by the Minister President of Hesse, Boris Rhein, for his outstanding achievements.
